A stainless steel and hand stitched alligator covered pocket watch. This pocket watch was introduced by Jean-Paul Gaultier for Hermès in 2008 for the Spring/Summer runway show. It is based on a classic piece that was made by Jaeger LeCoultre in the 1920's. The 'Harnais' pocket watch, as it is named, is designed to be looped through a handbag, or luggage handle. It can either be made visible outside the bag, or securely tucked inside the bag. The piece is powered by a quartz movement meaning there is no winding or setting necessary once it is set on the correct time. The dial is classic in its design and features a date window at the six o'clock position. The piece comes in its beautiful original wooden and card presentation box, and has all the original paperwork from its original sale in New York in 2008.
