Depuis 2009, Frederique Constant rend hommage aux légendaires yachts Runabout des années 1920. En 2013, la marque a entamé un partenariat avec la RHS (Riva Historical Society), une association milanaise fondée en 1988 et dédiée à la préservation et à la restauration des Runabout classiques conçus par M. Carlo Riva, un passionné de navigation de plaisance. Piero Mario Gibellini et Carlos Riva ont fondé cette organisation à but non lucratif, dont l'objectif est de préserver le patrimoine mondial de cet héritage établi.
The Runabout range features a 42 mm stainless steel and a rose gold-plated case. The cases undergo a polishing treatment, reminiscent to the lustrous appearance of the Runabout boats. Protected by a convex sapphire crystal, the Runabout dials bear Frederique Constant’s classic hobnail pattern with a central guilloche. The Arabic numerals, indexes, and hands are completed with a luminous treatment. The final detail on the dial is the date window at 6 o’clock with a magnifying lens. Around the outer rim of the dial, the minutes are displayed. An elegant detail is the see-through sapphire case back, revealing the automatic mechanism. Distinguished by the engraving of the RHS pavilion.
Faithful to its tradition, each of the models are delivered in a special limited-edition box including a miniature wooden replica of a Runabout yacht. Paying tribute to the iconic designs of the elegant roaring twenties sports boats.
